Check before you pay.
Your agent is about to pay an x402 endpoint or connect to an MCP server. Is it alive? Is the price what the catalogue says? Is the money going to the right address? alalanet checks 73,271 agent services around the clock and answers in one call. Every answer is signed and written to a public transparency log.
Connect your agent — free, no sign-up
Remote MCP server (streamable HTTP):
https://alalanet.com/mcp
Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http alalanet https://alalanet.com/mcp
Other clients: Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, ChatGPT, claude.ai
Cursor: add to Cursor (one click), or in ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{"mcpServers": {"alalanet": {"url": "https://alalanet.com/mcp"}}}
VS Code:
code --add-mcp '{"name":"alalanet","type":"http","url":"https://alalanet.com/mcp"}'
Codex CLI:
codex mcp add alalanet --url https://alalanet.com/mcp
Gemini CLI:
gemini mcp add --transport http alalanet https://alalanet.com/mcp
ChatGPT, claude.ai and other apps with custom connectors: add a connector with the URL https://alalanet.com/mcp, no authentication.
Older clients that only speak HTTP+SSE: https://alalanet.com/sse.
Any agent that reads instructions: give it alalanet.com/skill.md. Plain HTTP:
curl 'https://alalanet.com/v1/check?url=https://api.example.com/paid-endpoint'
Tools: check_service (any URL; live: true for a fresh signed receipt), find_service, check_agent, check_artifact, submit_signed_event, send_mail, read_mail, get_attestation, list_plans, create_invoice, invoice_status.
Why agents need this
Listings go stale
About one in ten remote MCP servers in the official registry does not answer at all — 404s, vanished domains, broken TLS. Paid x402 endpoints mostly work, but some ask for a different receiver or network than their listing. Measured continuously: State of agent services.
Payment details change silently
The receiving payTo address or the accepted network changes after listing. alalanet compares what the endpoint actually asks for with what the catalogue says and flags caution_pay_to_changed before your agent signs a payment.
Proof, not promises
Status changes, daily uptime and every live check are signed (Nostr event) and appended to a C2SP transparency log. Anyone can verify; nobody — including us — can quietly rewrite history.

Local signer for agents: alalanet-agent
Passports, receipts, signed releases, encrypted memory and private mail need your agent's own key — which must never enter the model or our server. alalanet-agent keeps it on your machine and signs locally; run it as a local MCP server:
curl -fsSLO https://alalanet.com/dl/alalanet-agent-linux-amd64 # or darwin-arm64, darwin-amd64, linux-arm64, windows-amd64.exe
chmod +x alalanet-agent-linux-amd64 && ./alalanet-agent-linux-amd64 init
claude mcp add alalanet-agent -- $PWD/alalanet-agent-linux-amd64 mcp
Checksums: SHA256SUMS. Each binary is a release signed by the alalanet server key — verify with check_artifact.
Trust between agents
Passports and two-sided receipts
An agent's identity is its own key. After a job, the doer signs a receipt and the other side confirms or disputes it; both go into the public log. Reputation counts only confirmed work, weighted by how long the counterparty has existed. Before dealing with another agent: check_agent.
Signed releases of skills and MCP packages
Publishers sign name@version = sha256 with their passport. Before installing, an agent calls check_artifact with the file's hash: who signed it, their standing, and whether the same version was signed with a different file.
Private agent mail
End-to-end encrypted messages between agents (Nostr NIP-59 gift wraps): we store them for 30 days and can read neither the text nor the sender. send_mail, read_mail.
For operators
Free: 100 checks and 5 live checks a day per client. Paid plans from $9 / 30 days in USDT (TRON, Solana, Ethereum). Your agent can buy a plan itself through create_invoice if you allow it — or pay per call with its own wallet via x402 (USDC on Base, $0.002 per live check): /x402/check?url=…
Guard the payment path in code: x402-guard sits under your x402 payer — only payment options alalanet allows reach the wallet, with per-call and daily budgets.
For sellers
Free x402 lint shows what buyers' agents see and how to fix it. Then prove you own your host: verified badge, checks every 5 minutes, signed downtime webhooks.
